Something that is free or pay once or pay-per-major-version, like I said subscriptions (or that thing that RubiTrack does) don't make economical sense to me for what I do and how much I am going to use the software. ![]() Now, I am not going to give my money to this people again, not only for the things I stated above, but also because I am not a cyclist that uses the bike all year round, nor I do it very frequently: periodically paying a software that probably I wouldn't use a lot or to its full potential makes very little economical sense to me. If the company developing RubiTrack wanted a more steady/predictable income they could have switched to a subscription-based business model. I paid the full price when I bought the software and I can expect that, in order to have the latest features and fixes of the latest major version, I have to pay again, but remotely turning off something that I already have paid to you is a very shady thing to do. I must say that this is very, VERY disappointing. I recently started again doing both of them, but, and here is the problem, I found out that RubiTrack remotely turned off almost all functionalities from my version of the software and it's forcing me to buy the latest version (5). Sadly for the last two years, for a series of reasons, I never rode my bike nor I did hikings. I have an old but good Garmin Edge 500 that I use also for tracking my hikings and up until now I used RubiTrack on my computer for managing and viewing activities. I am a "casual" cyclist but I like to keep track of my activities.
